Overview
Gravimetric Feeder
A gravimetric feeder is a precision feeding device that measures and controls the mass flow rate of bulk solid materials — rather than relying on volume. It is the preferred solution for processes that demand high accuracy, especially when material bulk density varies or when tight recipe compliance is required.

Weigh & Start Discharge
The entire feeder is placed on load cells. The controller records the initial total weight. Then the motor begins discharging material at a preset speed.
Calculate Real Mass Flow
Load cells continuously measure the decreasing weight. The controller calculates weight loss per unit time over a short moving window. This yields the actual mass flow rate.
Closed-Loop Speed Correction
The controller compares the actual flow rate to the target setpoint. A PID loop adjusts the motor speed in real time.
Refill & Mode Switch
During refill, the feeder temporarily switches to volumetric mode. After refill and weight stabilization, it resumes gravimetric mode automatically.
Features
High-Resolution Load Cells for Batch Consistency.
High accuracy
The controller updates the speed signal every few milliseconds, quickly compensating for any deviation. The combination of precise weighing and rapid correction holds the flow rate extremely close to the target.
Real-time Feedback
The controller calculates a moving average weight loss rate over a short time window. Any deviation from the setpoint triggers an immediate proportional speed adjustment - often within the same control cycle.
Recipe management
Each ingredient is fed by its own gravimetric feeder. The system synchronizes all feeders so that the combined flow matches the total throughput, while each individual flow meets the required ratio.
